Posted June 1, 2017: Applications for the Office Administration program in FORT QU’APPELLE (integrated delivery) are still being accepted. However, applications for the Office Administration program in YORKTON are currently closed. Parkland College will accept applications for the 2018-19 academic year beginning October 1, 2017.

Office assistants are valued for their ability to bring organization and professionalism to the workplace. Administrative professionals handle the day to day office administration for an individual, network or team.

Over the course of this Sask Polytech Certificate you will learn to use leading office software, from word processing to accounting to email. You will gain practical experience through simulated office situations. You will practice standard office procedures, from directing telephone communications to preparing for meetings to maintaining office equipment and managing office supplies.

Did You Know?
When you complete the Business, Office Education, Entrepreneurship or Continuing Care Certificate at Parkland College your certificate will be issued by Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Formerly SIAST).

When can I apply?
You can apply anytime for SaskPolytech certificate programs at Parkland College. However, please note that applicants are accepted on a first come/first qualified basis. Original transcripts are required for acceptance into a program. Applications can be sent without the original but will not be officially considered until all entrance requirements are met (original transcript included).

If a program runs full-time can I still take it on a part-time basis?
Yes, most of the programs are available on a class by class basis. If you are interested in taking a program but can only do a few classes per semester we can create a schedule that will suit your needs. Some classes do have a prerequisite requirement and need to be taken in a certain order. We can help guide you through the process!

How do I apply for a program as an International Student?
Students can complete the online application form and pay the $120.00 processing fee. Applications must include secondary and post-secondary transcripts and documents. English proficiency results must also be attached.

Are there English language requirements for International Students?
Our programs all require a minimum 6.5 IELTS bandscore. Some exceptions apply.

Will there be assignments and homework as part of the program?
Students will cover several courses in each semester and are responsible for assignments and studying. This will definitely require homework outside of class time.

Career Opportunities

Graduates are prepared for employment in fields such as government, education, law, medicine, engineering, manufacturing, travel, insurance, banking and business. Example job titles include:

  • administrative assistants
  • administrative support persons
  • receptionists
