Research farm field day scheduled for July 23

Parkland College and East Central Research Foundation are pleased to announce that their third annual research farm field day will take place on July 23 in Yorkton.

Farmers and agriculture industry representatives are invited to check out the projects being conducted this summer. Researchers are working on 26 different projects, including wheat fungicide and plant growth regulator trials, canola fungicide and seed treatments, flax fungicide trials, and fertility trials for oats and canary seed.

The field day will start with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the research farm 1 km south of Yorkton on York Lake Road. A free barbecue lunch follows at about 12:30 p.m. Please RSVP to lead researcher Mike Hall at 306.621.6032.

About East Central Research Foundation:
ECRF is a non-profit organization established in 1996. Based in Yorkton, it undertakes applied research projects and demonstrates specialized crop protection technologies to local producers. Funding from government agencies allows ECRF to conduct trials on everything from seed treatments and crop residues to fertilizer application rates and weed and pest control. ECRF is one of eight producer-directed research and demonstration groups in Saskatchewan making up the Agriculture – Applied Research Management (Agri-ARM) network.
