Melville, SK—Parkland College is pleased to announce the appointments of two new instructors to its Firefighting Training Program: Mike Masserey, Lead Fire Service Instructor, and Scott Debienne, Fire Service Instructor.
Mike Masserey brings with him a wealth of knowledge, over 34 years of experience and received five prestigious awards throughout his career. Most recently, Mr. Masserey was a Fire Service Instructor with Lakeland College and has been nominated for the 2010 Mary Beth Dolan Award and received the Reader's Digest – Canadian Firefighter of the Year Award. Mr. Masserey comments on his recent appointment, “I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunity to lead the fire program through this period of growth and development and will strive to achieve the recognition of excellence.”
Scott Debienne brings with him a diverse background with over 21 years of experience and has received his Intermediate Care Paramedic EMS training. Most recently, Mr. Debienne was awarded the Federal Exemplary Services Medal for 20 years of exemplary Fire Services. Both Mr. Masserey and Mr. Debienne have agreed to volunteer with the Melville Fire Department and they both look forward to helping the community.....
